Why Losing Weight Could be Good For Your Sex Life

If you want to improve your sex life, it may be worth thinking about losing some weight, especially if you’re carrying a few too many pounds. Being overweight can affect your self-esteem and undermine your confidence. This can make it difficult for you to establish new relationships, because you always feel that you’re being judged because of your size. You feel ugly, not particularly sexy and rather frumpy. Even when you do many an effort with your appearance, all you can think about is the fact you are fat.

Confidence is an extremely attractive characteristic to possess and something that many people look for in a partner. Losing weight can give you the confidence you lack, which will obviously make it easier for you to go out and socialise; to make the most of your appearance and to feel good about yourself. When you give off an air of confidence, you will find that you’re not short of admirers. You don’t necessarily have to lose weight to pick up members of the opposite sex, but it does help to be positive and outgoing, which weight loss can sometimes help with.

Losing weight can present you with more opportunities to meet individuals who you may decide to pursue a sexual relationship with. Perhaps you’re already in a relationship, but feel that you are stuck in a rut, something that is not helped by your weight. The chances are your boyfriend or husband continues to find you attractive, but your own insecurities make it difficult to have the kind of sex life you would like. Unfortunately, when you’re in a stable relationship you can find yourself picking up habits that make weight gain more likely, which consequently affects the relationship.

You convince yourself that being overweight makes you less attractive, as you become preoccupied with the extra weight you’re carrying. Losing weight can therefore help you feel better about yourself, giving you the confidence to be more adventurous in the bedroom. Instead of turning off the light on the occasions you decide to have sex or avoiding sexual contact altogether, you will want to show off your newly toned body. You start to like the way you look and you want your partner to appreciate your efforts, too!

If you lose weight in a sensible way, making time for exercise as well as cutting calories, your fitness will improve no end. Clearly, this can only benefit your sex life, as your stamina will increase and you won’t be out of breath after a few minutes of foreplay, something which both you and your partner can be happy about! You will get many more hours of enjoyment, something that definitely makes losing weight worthwhile.

Losing weight could therefore benefit your sex life by giving you more options when it comes to choosing a partner, boosting your confidence in the bedroom and improving your stamina so that you are able to enjoy sex for longer, rather than wishing it was over as soon as possible.
