Can You Get Rich Fast?

If it was possible to get rich quickly, why do so many people find themselves working incredibly hard for so little? Of course, everyone clings on to the idea you can get rich with the minimum of effort, which is why so many people play the lottery. Indeed, the only way you’re likely to get rich quickly is to stumble upon a piece of good fortune by winning a large sum of money through gambling – whether by playing the lottery, going to a casino or putting money on a horse that comes good. There are other ways you could get rich quickly, but few of them involve actual work.

You may be sitting on a fortune without even realising it, as many people have houses full of junk. You may discover that amongst the ‘junk’ is something that is actually an antique worth a lot of money when you have a house clear-out. It could be that you end up buying something in a junk shop or online because you like the look of it, only to discover it’s actually a rare antique that is incredibly valuable. If it goes to auction you could quickly find yourself with more money than you ever anticipated.

It might be the case that a long-lost relative dies and leaves you a substantial sum of money, so that you find yourself financially better-off. Of course, a relative dying may be a sad affair, and unless your family is inordinately rich, any inheritance probably won’t be that magnificent. However, when life is such a struggle, you need to hold on to something and it would be nice to think that without having to do anything you could become financially secure. Of course, with all the legal wrangling that is likely to ensue, you probably won’t get rich that quickly; plus, you will have to pay tax.

So, basically, you can get rich quick if you come from a wealthy, generous family or like to gamble and have some good luck or are just lucky in general. You may invest in stocks and shares or buy a home that increases in value over the years and find yourself getting rich without any real effort on your part. There are so many get-rich-quick schemes that seem to offer you the chance to make your millions, but they’re all a con, preying on people’s desire to be financially secure. The most depressing thing is that working hard won’t necessarily guarantee you will attain financial security; yet gambling can sometimes pay off. It hardly offers you an incentive to work hard, now; does it?!

Why it Seems You Can Never Lose Weight Fast Enough

Impatience is definitely a problem when you're trying to lose weight. You find yourself feeling hungry for the first time in ages and having to restrain yourself at meal times to stop yourself reaching for more. You're not used to having to practise self-control around food and then there is the fact you have to get more active at the same time. When you're introducing all these changes to your life, you want to see the results right away. You want to know that all your hard work is paying off and that it is actually worth the effort.

The trouble is that when you approach weight loss in a sensible way you may only lose one or two pounds a week. That may not be a problem if you've only got 10 pounds to lose, but when you have a more substantial amount of weight you need to shed, it can be hard to stay positive with such a small amount. Even though you know that the professionals all say that between one and two pounds is a sustainable rate of weight loss, you want to be able to shed seven or eight pounds every week like the contestants on 'The Biggest Loser' somehow manage to.

Unless you're prepared to go on a very-low calorie diet or have gastric bypass surgery you're probably not going to lose weight as quickly as you would like to, but at least you can console yourself with the fact you have a good chance of keeping the weight off. You have to stay focused on the positives and keep your motivation up, because you may not be able to see the changes you want straightaway. It may take months for you to drop a dress size or for you to lose your double chin. Although the scales are telling you that you're lighter, you may not really notice it.

However, perhaps you are ultra-critical of yourself, so that no matter how much weight you lose or how good you look, you can't see it. Hopefully, though, others will notice a difference and give you the praise and encouragement you need to continue on your weight-loss journey. Even if it takes longer than you would want it to, the main thing is that your weight continues to head in the right direction and that you have the determination to stick with your weight-loss plan.

Although it seems that you can never lose weight quick enough, at least you know you are actually able to lose weight. If you follow through with your weight-loss plan, not only will you be lighter when you step on the scales and be able to fit into smaller clothes; you will also look and feel healthier and you won't have to worry about developing health problems because of your weight. All of these benefits of losing weight are worth remembering if you're struggling to eat healthily and exercise regularly and are becoming so impatient to see results that you feel like giving up.
